Origin & meaning
Scaramouche (also known as "Scaramuz" in German) is known as the sly and mocking schemer in the Commedia dell'Arte. This statue is based on a design by Simon Feilner and was made by the famous Fürstenberg porcelain factory. Fürstenberg's blue mark is present at the bottom, along with the gold-coloured inscription: "Scaramuz (Modell von Feilner) aus der Commedia dell'arte Nr. 52, handgemalt, H. Hagedorn".
