Origin & meaning
The moon vase (moonflask) is among the most iconic forms of Chinese porcelain, originally popular in the Ming and Qing dynasties. This 20th-century specimen bears an apocryphal Qianlong mark on the underside - a common way of referring to the great imperial style of the 18th century. The Bajixiang symbolism represents prosperity, protection and spiritual harmony, making this vase not only decorative but also culturally significant.
