Colourful 50 cm tall Chinese Doucai moon vase, a true showpiece for collectors and interiors. This impressive porcelain moonflask is richly decorated with floral motifs, tendrils and graceful meander bands, executed in the refined Doucai technique: a combination of underglaze blue and overglaze enamel colours.

Origin & meaning
The Doucai style, originated in the Ming dynasty and later rediscovered in the Qing period, is known for its harmonious colour combinations and elegant lines. This 20th-century specimen bears an apocryphal Qianlong mark at the bottom, referring to imperial porcelain art. The vase comes from the Venduehuis The Hague and combines historical inspiration with a monumental look that comes into its own in any collection.
