Origin & meaning
Created by Samson, Edmé et Cie in Paris (founded 1845), known for its high-quality reproductions of Chine de commande porcelain, loved in Europe and the United States. Samson often produced armorial and floral decors that matched the collector's taste of the time. The combination of decor and execution makes these vases a refined example of French Chinese porcelain from the fin de siècle.
