The sculptural swans, executed by the renowned Gebrüder Dingeldein, are among the most refined examples of Historismus work from Hanau. Notable are the meticulous engraving lines in the feathers, the floral chiselling on the base, and the coloured cabochons that give the swans a lively, almost theatrical appearance.

Origin & meaning
The pseudo-guild marks and the distinct Dingeldein master mark (oval with rad motif and D) show typical Hanau work around 1880-1910. Hanau was known for its high-quality Neo-Renaissance and Baroque fantasy silver, often intended for cabinets, curiosity rooms and international collectors. This pair, executed as elegant water birds with nautilus shell, fits fully within that luxurious Wunderkammer tradition.

Dimensions & condition
Height 32 cm - width 12 cm - depth 24 cm.
