Lavishly illustrated Sotheby’s auction catalogue of The Collection of Khalil Rizk, an important private collection with a strong emphasis on Chinese export porcelain. The collection was auctioned at Sotheby's New York on 25 April 2008 and belonged to Khalil Rizk, founder of The Chinese Porcelain Company in New York.

The Khalil Rizk collection

Khalil Rizk was a prominent collector and dealer in Chinese export porcelain. His collection encompassed an exceptionally wide range of objects, including Chinese export porcelain, armorial porcelain and other European and Asian works of art.

An important part of the catalogue is dedicated to 18th- and early 19th-century Chinese export porcelain, including armorials, famille rose, blue and white porcelain and pieces made for the European and American markets.

The auction

The Collection of Khalil Rizk was auctioned at Sotheby’s New York on 25 April 2008. The extensive catalogue contains hundreds of comprehensively described and colour-illustrated lots, and constitutes a particularly useful reference work for collectors and dealers in Chinese export porcelain.

Many objects from the Rizk Collection are still documented today with reference to this Sotheby's auction when they reappear on the market.
