Made by L. Ostermayr in Nuremberg, Germany, this jewellery box is a textbook example of the refined Art Nouveau style. The relief shows ornate flowers and stylised leaves that reflect the movement and elegance of the period. Ostermayr was a renowned silversmith and metal workshop in Nuremberg and his works are today highly sought after by collectors of Art Nouveau and Art Nouveau. The included original key with lion motif makes this specimen extra special.

Dimensions & condition
The box measures 12 cm high and 19 cm wide. The exterior is richly decorated with gilt and silvered copper, the interior lined with red velvet. The object is in very good condition, befitting its age, with only slight signs of use on the velvet. Key is present.
