This compact yet refined pot (10.5 × 7 cm) showcases Song ceramists' mastery. The partial celadon glaze reveals the warm clay colour, while the signature adds extra collector's value. The light maritime patina attests to centuries underwater, giving it a tangible link to the 10th-12th century.

Origin & meaning
Originating from the Jepara shipwreck off the coast of Indonesia, dating from the Northern Song dynasty. At the time, these jars served to store liquids, fragrances or small objects, and were most likely traded along the maritime Silk Road.
