Hand-carved from hardwood, this Akan statue represents an important cultural symbol within the Akan tradition, where ancestral statues are revered as protectors and spiritual guides. Dimensions & condition
Height: 47 cm, Width: 9 cm, Depth: 13 cm. Condition: The patina is warm and vibrant, with dark brown + golden brown tones, light wear on protruding parts (nose, chin, haircut nodes) and a matt finish on flat surfaces, interspersed with slightly more gloss where there has been more frequent contact. Small wood grains and finer cracks are visible, but appropriate for age and use.
