Colon figures from Ivory Coast's Baule often show influences of colonial and modern society, translated into recognisable clothing and accessories. This specimen, however, is unique in that it depicts the world-famous cartoon character Tintin and his dog, a humorous and rare interpretation beloved by collectors of African art as well as cartoon memorabilia.
Dimensions & condition
Height 30.5 cm, width 4 cm, depth 2.8 cm. The sculpture has been carefully crafted and is in good condition with slight traces of age, befitting the tradition.
