Dhyangro ritual drum from western Nepal (Magar), with carved phurbu handle and powerful ritual look. This Nepalese shaman drum is double-sided strung and shows a warm, authentic patina.
Origin & meaning
The dhyangro is a shaman drum used by Magar shamans in Nepal during rituals, healing ceremonies and trance experiences. The phurbu handle, shaped like a ritual dagger, is richly decorated with shamanic symbolism and makes this specimen particularly compelling. Use marks and paint wear emphasise its authenticity.
