Authentic Nepalese wooden milk jug with handle in the shape of a monkey, approx. 26 cm high and 15 cm in diameter (20 cm wide including handle). Hand-carved from a single piece of wood, with beautiful patina and a vividly designed handle representing the shape of a monkey.
Origin & meaning
These wooden milk jars were traditionally used in Nepal for storing and serving milk or yak butter. The animal handle not only gives a playful character, but also emphasises the connection to nature and symbolism in the local culture. For collectors of folk art and Himalayan objects, these are popular pieces.

Condition: solid condition with weathered patina and signs of use appropriate for age. The monkey-shaped handle is solid and beautifully carved.
