Description

Colourful set of three Chinese porcelain brush pots from the 19th century - richly painted in famille rose and executed in Yongzheng style.

Origin & meaning
These brush pots were made in the 19th century and show the refined decorative tradition of the Qing Dynasty. Each surface shows detailed depictions of birds, flowering branches or landscapes, framed by colourful floral patterns against a yellow or turquoise background. The brush pots are marked with the same Yongzheng character mark (1723-1735), applied as a tribute to the famous style period, but typical of later 19th-century production. Such brush pots were used by scholars and calligraphers and are among the classic attributes of the Chinese writing desk.

Dimensions & condition
- Dimensions per brush pot: 20 cm high, 15.5 cm wide and 15.5 cm deep.
- All three in excellent condition, with fresh colours and meticulously painted details. The set forms a rare harmonious ensemble that instantly enhances your collection of Chinese porcelain.
