Origin & meaning
This expressive image from the Fali culture served as an ancestor image and protective ritual object within the family context. Ancestor statues were revered as bearers of spiritual power and connection to the deceased spouse or ancestors. This specimen is from a private collection in Belgium and comes with certificate from Guerrin Arts and Auctions, confirming its authenticity.

Height 26 cm, width 14 cm, depth 4 cm. The sculpture cannot stand on its own.
Material: leather, iron and fibre.
Condition: good condition, with obvious signs of age appropriate to its age and function.
