Rare Roman bronze fox with refined details, c. 200 AD.

This charming and well-preserved figurine depicts a fox in natural pose, carefully cast in bronze. With its compact size of just 4 cm, it exudes a surprising vibrancy that immediately appeals to collectors of antique miniatures.

Origin & meaning
The fox comes from a pre-1990 German private collection and was acquired through Oriental Art Auctions. In Roman culture, the fox was often associated with cunning, cunning and intelligence.
