Origin & meaning
The Hemis kachina is among the most prominent figures within Hopi culture. The striking pueblo headdress symbolises fertility and the cycle of harvest. With its exceptional height, this is a rare large specimen that immediately attracts attention. Originating from the collection of Amsterdam architect Ben Spangberg (1929-2024), who carefully collected tribal art between 1960 and 1980.
